Dear Incoming Student,
The Lambda Omicron Chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity congratulates you on your acceptance into to the prestigious University of California: Irvine.
The Sigma Nu Honor and Action Scholarship is intended to alleviate the ever-
increasing tuition and housing costs in recent years by awarding $500 to an outstanding individual who has demonstrated both motivation and leadership while pursuing their academic careers. The recipient of the scholarship will be chosen upon the evaluation of numerous of variables – including but not limited to academic, community, and extra- curricular activities. In addition, the recipient will also be selected in relation to Sigma Nu’s mission statement:
To develop ethical leaders inspired by the principles of Love, Honor and Truth. To foster the personal growth of each man’s mind, heart, and character. To perpetuate lifelong friendships and commitment to the Fraternity.
The most outstanding applicants will be selected for interviews with the Sigma Nu Scholarship Chairman during Fall Rush during weeks 0 and 1 of the Fall Quarter. To be eligible for the Honor and Action Scholarship, you must attend a minimum of two interviews. Note, however, that you are not required to become a candidate of Sigma Nu Fraternity in order to be eligible, nor will becoming a candidate increase your chances in any way of becoming the winner.
